Another cold and rainy day on the North Coast of NSW. Tropical paradise has never been so gloomy.

But inside, it is warm and toasty. As the fire roared, Elka and I made sour dough bread (an amazing recipe I will divulge in the coming week). We then painted over old canvases.

“What you doing?” Elka asks, as I paint for the first time in months. “I want to paint too,” she says. So I get out a second canvas for her and she applied green paint with vigour, narrating her creative task as she went. Another way to spend a wintery day with a toddler.

Bliss.
