As an aside…

Today I made milk. Not cow or soy or skim…I made almond milk! Inspired by a friend who is well versed in the art of herbology (?) and culinary delights.

Here’s how:

Take 250g of almonds

Soak with filtered almonds for 1-2 days. Cover well, as almonds expand.

Drain, and cover again with 3-4 cups of filtered water.

Wizz, and drain through muslin. Squeeze muslin until all milk extracts.

Almond meal can be used for cooking.

Makes about 1litre of milk.

Can add a bit of salt and sugar if desired, but not necessary.
